About Nay to grey

Nay to Grey is owned by Joanne Dougherty, who is also the artist behind Nay to Grey. Fun is the biggest factor for Joanne, when creating a new body of work. Mediums used in the artwork include watercolor, colored pencils, digital art and polymer clay. Most pieces include elements of each medium, and a lot of Joanne`s work is based on characters that she creates from many sources of inspiration.                                                         

                                  

Due to Joanne having a background in health care, she felt compelled to create characters that each person could identify with, be it ethnicity, ability/disability to personal style, they appeal to the non mainstream customer, with characters showing their true selves, and styles.

Some of the recognizable factors that Joanne`s work includes, is the use of metallic in her paintings, favoring gold, and characters in contemplation, with their eyes closed. Joanne`s love of vivid color is evident in many pieces.
